By downloading or using Language Tutor · Baro (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, subject to the rules of the app store from which you obtained it (e.g. the Apple App Store or Google Play).
Pricing, taxes, and refunds follow the policies of the store where you obtained the App. The developer does not operate separate billing or subscription systems inside the App.
The tutor's replies are produced by a language model. Models make mistakes: a reply may contain an incorrect translation, an unnatural phrasing, an outdated usage, or a confidently wrong correction. The App is a practice aid, not a certified teacher, a professional translator, or a source of factual, legal, medical, or financial advice. Do not rely on it where an error could cause harm or loss, and verify anything that matters with a qualified human or an authoritative source.
Content generated in a conversation is produced in response to your input; you are responsible for what you choose to type and for how you use what comes back.
Where the on-device tutor cannot run, the App offers an optional cloud tutor that is disabled by default and activates only after you enable it. While it is enabled, your chat messages are sent to Google's Gemini API to produce replies, and their handling is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy in addition to these Terms. You may disable it at any time. Do not enter passwords, financial details, or other sensitive personal information into the chat. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
You agree not to misuse the App: no reverse engineering to extract non-public APIs, no use that violates law or others’ rights, no attempt to interfere with the App’s normal operation, and no use of the tutor to generate unlawful, harassing, or abusive content.
Saved phrases, practice history, and settings live only in the App's private storage on your device. Deleting the App or resetting the device removes them permanently — the developer holds no copy and cannot recover them for you.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” The developer does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, or for any loss of data or profits, except where liability cannot be excluded by applicable law.
These terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when they do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised terms.
