The tutor runs on your device. There is no account, no developer server, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party trackers. Your saved phrases, practice history, and settings never leave your phone.
There is exactly one case where anything is transmitted: the optional cloud tutor, provided for devices that cannot run the on-device model. It is off by default, it turns on only after you read the in-app notice and enable it yourself, and while it is on it sends only your chat messages. It is described in full below.

Some devices cannot run the on-device tutor. Rather than leave those users with a broken app, we offer a cloud tutor as an alternative. Because it involves sending text off the device, it is treated as an explicit choice:
With the cloud tutor off: nothing. Not for the tutor, not for storage, not for analytics, not for updates. Turn on airplane mode and the app continues to work.
With the cloud tutor on: your chat messages, as described above, and nothing else.
Opening a link to another Baro app in the App Store (cross-promo footer), or tapping “send an idea” to open your own email app, hands off externally. Those are the only other optional, user-initiated external actions.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
